This is an ideal base to sit back and relax in the large garden, or enjoy a coffee and a good book in the shepherd’s hut which makes a lovely summerhouse. With great walks straight from the door, this is also a popular area for cyclists, with many good routes throughout the area. Spend a day at the coast and enjoy the quiet sandy beaches at Sandilands, or the traditional seaside resort of Skegness with its fairground and nature reserve at Gibraltar Point, all about a 30-minute drive away.
There are nearby market towns at Alford, the Georgian town of Louth, which still has 3 markets a week, and also Horncastle which is well known for its antique and collectables shops. A day out in Lincoln to the east is around a 40-minute drive with its cathedral, castle and Magna Carta Visitor Centre, as well as many excellent cafés and restaurants for refreshment in The Bailgate area, and also the area surrounding the wharf. In the evening, enjoy a stroll down the lane or along the bridleway and footpath to the village pub which serves good food and real ale. Beach 12 miles. Shop 2¾ miles, pub and restaurant 1¾ miles.
