Patio doors open out onto a raised balcony where you can sit and admire the views over the village to the sea. If you are lucky you may spot dolphins. The same view can be enjoyed from the kitchen/dining room as you tuck into your breakfast or evening meal. There are many coastal walks and beaches to visit with your dog, Portpatrick is at one end of the Southern Upland Way, a long distance path (212 miles!) to Cockburnpath on the east coast. There are plenty of golf courses nearby including Portpatrick Golf Club which is just a short stroll from Hillcroft. There is a RSPB nature reserve at Mull of Galloway and mountain bikers and walkers with love the 7stanes Galloway Forest Park. Beach 1 mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 0.3 miles.
