Heacham itself has a beautiful beach, considered by many to be one of the best in the area, and while it offers village life it is packed with great amenities like takeaways, shops, cafés and inns too. Venture a little further however and you will find yourself enjoying a host of coastal habitats including sand and grass dunes, picturesque quays, wide sandy beaches and salt and clay marshes. Travel east along the coastline and explore them all as you discover a string of picturesque coastal villages, many of which offer delicious places to eat too.
If you are travelling as a family, a trip to nearby Hunstanton is a must as it is packed with traditional seaside attractions and even has a Sealife Centre. You can take seasonal boat trips from here including the Screamer. This is certainly not for the faint hearted but don’t worry there are more sedate trips available too. History lovers will enjoy visits to the Hanseatic Quarter of Old King’s Lynn, Castle Acre and Castle Rising, the Sandringham, Houghton and Holkham Estates, and bird watchers will hear Snettisham and Titchwell Marshes calling too. Beach 2 miles.
