Honeypot Cottage is located behind security gates and is situated within a 10-acre family run vineyard in the heart of rural East Sussex. The cottage is part of the owner’s estate and they conveniently live next door. This is a very peaceful rural spot close to Fletching and Ashdown Forest. The owner really wants you to enjoy your stay and is more than happy for you to enjoy picnics or walks around the vineyard which has distant views of the South Downs. Your pets are welcome but they need to be kept on their lead when they are close to the cottage but there is plenty of room for the dogs to roam within the acres of land the owner has.
The cottage itself is very generous in size and the main reception room is huge. Honeypot Cottage has two single beds and en-suite shower-room, open plan kitchen, dining and living area. There is a sofa bed in the living area to accommodate a further 2 guests should you need to. The owner also allows you to use the tennis court which is conveniently located directly outside the cottage and there is ample room for parking and bikes to be secured. There is a golf course at Piltdown just a few minutes’ drive down the road from the property. The National Trust-owned Sheffield Park and Gardens and the historic Bluebell Railway are also less than 10 minutes away by car.
If you prefer to leave your car at home, there are plenty of footpaths close to the property and the lovely village of Fletching is only a country mile along a public footpath across fields which can be accessed from the bottom of the vineyard. Fletching has a 12th century church, local shop/café/deli and the award-winning Griffin Inn pub, with large pub garden and views over the “Sussex Serengeti”. This is a great property to relax in and unwind and if fishing is something enjoy then you have Piltdown Pond a few minutes away too. The south coast is also within easy reach with Birling Gap only about 35 minutes away. With so much to do just a short walk or drive away, you certainly will have a great time and an ideal place to spend your staycation this year.
