Situated in the village you have everything you need locally; a shop is a few minutes away along with the village pub/American-themed restaurant. You can also visit Appuldurcombe Estate and manor house while here. Once home to the Worsley family, the property has a rich history and is no stranger to a ghost story or two. The IOW Donkey Sanctuary is situated on the outskirts of the village, within walking distance (down the old railway track, the Red Squirrel trail).

Surrounded by the chalk downs of the Ventnor Undercliff, the garden boasts an impressive collection of rare and exotic plants and trees.
Shanklin and Sandown with their sandy beaches and gorgeous waters to dip your toes in are also close by. For the more adventurous type, there are many water sports activities to enjoy.
There is plenty to do and if you enjoy history, then Osborne House and Carisbrooke Castle are a must-see, with their historic royal connections. Blackgang Chine, the UK’s oldest theme park, is a great day out. So many things to do on this wonderful island. Hop on a ferry and start your holiday.
