The large patio doors open onto a stunning balcony area set with tables and chairs, imagine a morning coffee or an evening G&T looking out onto spectacular views, south facing you can enjoy the best of the weather all day long. The cupboards are well stocked whether catering for a hearty supper or a special afternoon tea party. The Lodge even has its own quirky bar area complete with drinks fridge and cocktail shakers! The stylish kitchen has a gas range cooker and everything you need and more to cater for your stay. On the ground floor are four good sized bedrooms, all en-suite with patio doors opening out onto the outside decking. The first a twin room, bed two a double room, bed three a super king (which can be twin on request) and bed four has level access from outside with double bed and en-suite wet room. All bedrooms are superbly equipped and furnished for a high level of comfort with TVs and complimentary toiletries.
Outside is where the fun begins. Pop on a costume and take a dip in the sunken hot tub… the setting has the most amazing views across the valley, what a perfect spot to watch the sun go down. Amble down to the pond and find a quiet spot to read a book or set the table and enjoy an al fresco supper. As night draws in, take a warm throw to wrap up and sit and experience the amazing starry skies above Northumberland. Set on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, the location is excellent for exploring the spectacular scenery of the north of England, the Scottish borderland and the Lake District National Park, which is just an hour away. Nearby you can discover the Vindolanda Roman Fort, The Sill Landscape Discovery Centre and the world famous Sycamore Gap on Hadrian’s Wall. Nearby is the village of Bardon Mill, where there is a lovely picnic area, coffee shop/general store, a hotel serving a varied menu including Thai meals and drinks. From here catch the train - you can be in Newcastle or Carlisle in under 45 minutes.
Visit the historic market town of Hexham, with stunning abbey, the oldest gaol in the country, and an abundance of eclectic shops, restaurants and pubs. Continue to the beautiful Roman town of Corbridge and meander round its boutique shops, art galleries and antique shops, stop for a coffee or take a stroll along the river. Locally there is an abundance of eateries to choose from. Huntercrook Lodge can be booked with it’s neighbour, the Duck House to accommodate up to 12 people.
