Looking towards the coast, there is the medieval town of Dunster with its castle (National Trust), and then on to Minehead, which also has a larger range of shops and amenities, as well as the West Somerset Railway and beach area. Other areas of interest close by are Porlock and Porlock Weir, and a little further along the coast are Lynton and Lynmouth, the two towns being connected by the Victorian cliff railway.
