The lodge overlooks the Chichester Watersports Lake where a boat service can take guests to the café and watersports centre the other side. The watersports centre is open between April and October. The lodge has a combined living/kitchen area with an electric hob and a combi microwave/oven. With the café serving breakfast, lunches and early evening meals plus a number of nearby eateries and a pub there are plenty of options for guests. The lodge has a double bedroom and a bunk bedded room. Please note the bunk bedded room is narrower as a result of the extra width of the corridor. It would suit a couple or a family of four where there are younger children. Outside space offers an outlook across the lake.
The city centre of Chichester is within a short drive or a 20-minute walk from Chichester Watersports. The streets are packed with listed buildings including the imposing cathedral which has been a part of Chichester history for almost 1000 years. The city centre is enclosed within the ancient city walls which is ideal for exploring by foot. With its plethora of attractions shops and restaurants it is a cosmopolitan city with a vibrant and friendly vibe. It is also home to the famous Festival Theatre which is renowned for its quality of productions as well as featuring many world premieres. With such a long and varied history Chichester is of course home to a dynamic arts scene and offers many galleries and museums to peruse. Just a short drive and you can be in Chichester Harbour an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which is one of the few remaining undeveloped coastal areas in Southern England and remains relatively wild. Its wide expanses and intricate creeks are at the same time a major wildlife haven and among some of Britain’s most popular boating waters.
If a trip to the seaside is on your agenda then look no further than West Wittering beach which is a twenty minute drive away. Offering wonderful views of Chichester Harbour and the South Downs beyond the natural and unspoilt sandy beach at West Wittering has been a favourite destination for a family day out for generations. The highest water quality and excellent facilities have made it one of the premiere beaches in the country. From Chichester Watersports you can venture north to the South Downs and Trundle Hill offers spectacular views back to the city as well as a great view over Goodwood Racecourse where the prestigious Glorious Goodwood meeting takes place in high Summer. The wonderful Downland hills make this an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
