It has its own main line railway station from where you can travel deeper into Cornwall, through stunning countryside, or east towards Devon. The Fowey Valley, the inspiration for Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame, reaches down to the town of the same name, with its picturesque harbour and eye-catching architecture. There are restaurants and boutique shops to explore, along with the wonderfully named Ready Money Cove. Walks are endless it seems, with breath-taking vistas far out to sea. Restormel Castle, the beautiful National Trust house and gardens of Lanhydrock Estate, the captivating Eden Project, with its huge biomes shrouding the world’s largest indoor rainforest, and the incredible Lost Gardens of Heligan are a joy to behold, whilst the North or South Cornwall coastline has golden sandy beaches, with inlets, coves and rock pools to discover.
