It has been awarded a Visit England 5 Star Gold Award so you can rest assured the accommodation is of an excellent standard.

In keeping with the Lendal Tower’s magnificent history, the property has been beautifully renovated to combine the traditional with the contemporary. It keeps its original wood panelling and a charming spiral staircase twists inside the tower. A truly unique roof terrace offers breathtaking views of the City of York and the River Ouse, a perfect place to unwind and watch the world go by.

Set right in the heart of York’s medieval city, Lendal Tower enjoys a superb central location. With plenty of attractions nearby, guests will be spoilt for choice. Those who love history will be in their element, with many other historical buildings to explore. Take a tour around The Treasurer’s House, a National Trust property, or The Merchant Adventurer’s Hall, where you can unravel the stories of the past or wander amongst the picturesque gardens. Those with families may wish to go on an educational tour of the National Railway Museum, or the Jorvik Centre where you can learn some important Viking battle tactics! Meander along the cobbled winding streets through to the Shambles, or stroll along the high street, both of which are ideal for shopaholics. If you wish to venture further afield, the North York Moors and the east coast are easily accessible. Enjoy a day at the beach in Scarborough, Bridlington or Filey, and don’t forget to sample some delicious fish and chips prior to returning to the city before dusk falls to enjoy one of the spooky ghost walks.
