Lightkeeper’s Rest is tucked away down a quiet lane in the harbour town of Anstruther and has been furnished and equipped to a very good standard to ensure as comfortable and relaxing holiday as possible. You enter the cottage into the attractive kitchen/dining room which has been equipped for preparing a family meal. There are two well presented bedrooms, one which has an en-suite shower room and kingsize bed, and the other with twin beds. The bright, first floor living room is cosy and welcoming with comfortable seating and sea views.
Just a short walk takes you to the bustling harbour front with local boats landing their catch and leisure boats. There is plenty of place along the front to take refreshment from local bar, cafés and an award-winning fish and chip restaurant. Anstruther has cobbled lanes and historic buildings to explore, as well as two sandy beaches and rock pools. From April to September there are daily ferries and boat trips leaving from the harbour side to the Isle of May National Nature Reserve, which is home to colonies of sea birds, including puffins, and the surrounding waters are the habitat of seal colonies, a great day out for all.
Enjoy lovely walks along the Fife Coast Path which passes through Anstruther, leading to secluded coves, picturesque fishing villages and award-winning white sandy beaches. For a day out, St Andrews is well worth a visit with lots to do to suit all ages. There is a Sea Life Centre, sandy beach and harbour, great shopping with local shops as well as high street names, restaurants, pubs, bistros, historic buildings and museums. If you like a round of golf on your holiday, St Andrews is world famous as being the home of golf, with a family-friendly course as well as championship courses to play. Even more locally, the charming 9-hole Anstruther course is a four minute walk from the cottage.
