From the moment you arrive you will be delighted with this shepherd’s hut. Located in the heart of the Norfolk Broads National Park, it stands in peaceful countryside and enjoys an enclosed garden with a private wood-fired hot tub. There are excellent walks from the hut and many foot trails to explore so be sure to bring your walking boots. The area is very popular with local cycle clubs that welcome new riders. There are plenty of eateries to be enjoyed locally serving good food, and there are many well regarded take-away restaurants.
Wroxham, known as the capital of the Norfolk Broads, is 4 miles away, where day boats can be hired and trips taken to explore the miles of waterways rich with bird and wildlife. There are riverside cafés, restaurants, a garden centre, shops, a supermarket, the model village and railway station. Wroxham Barns has craft barns and eateries. Enjoy a trip on the Bure Valley Steam Railway, stopping at Coltishall and travelling back and forth from Wroxham to the market town of Aylsham.
Excellent sandy beaches are within a 20 minutes’ drive. Sea Palling, Mundersley, Bacton and Happisburgh all offer excellent wide sandy beaches and traditional seaside amusements and cafés. In the winter months, a visit to Horsey Gap beach is a must where you will find hundreds of grey seal pups on the beach. The city of Norwich is 13 miles away with its cathedral, theatre, castle museum, two indoor shopping centres, a market square, and a plethora of cafés and restaurants. The surrounding area has excellent birdwatching and fishing opportunities. National Trust properties nearby include Blickling Hall, Felbrigg Hall and Sheringham Park and are all worth a visit. Beach 9 miles.
