Mountain biking is also very popular with the mountain bike trails of Antur Stiniog at Blaenau Ffestiniog and Coed y Brennin Forest near Dolgellau, along with miles of quite country lanes to explore. The Italianate village of Portmeirion and Porthmadog home of both the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland narrow gauge railways for journeys deep into the Snowdonia mountains are both close by.
