Lochindaal is a lovely, welcoming home from home, ideally set up for families and is large enough for everyone to have their own space. Downstairs there is level entry into the house, wide doors and everything you need is on ground floor level (including two of the bedrooms). The large living room has patio doors out to the garden, and double doors through to the beautifully finished dining kitchen. The door from the kitchen leads to the utility room with fridge/freezer and washer/dryer. Each bedroom is very spacious, with built in wardrobes and plenty of room for suitcases. On the ground floor is the master bedroom with en-suite shower room, as well as a twin room. There’s a separate toilet also on the ground floor. Heading upstairs, there are two very spacious bedrooms, a kingsize with TV - perfect for quiet time, and a twin bedroom, with a large family bathroom (bath and separate shower). Lochindaal is extremely family-friendly, with a next-to-me style cot provided, and a variety of books and games, along with children’s crockery etc. There is suitable space in any of the bedrooms for situating the cot.
Lochindaal is set in Whitehouse, which is just 5 miles from the quaint fishing village of Tarbert. Tarbert offers a good selection of places to eat and drink along with shops and various events during the summer. Seal Point is down just past Clachan, around 5 miles from the house - groups of around a dozen seals can usually be spotted on the rocks at low tide; sunsets from here are spectacular too. Lochindaal also sits on the new Kintyre 66 route, as well as the whisky trail - so is popular with those wanting to visit the Islay or Campbeltown distilleries.
It is a short drive to the Islay ferry, as well as to the Gigha and Arran ferries. It is around half an hour from the famous Machrihanish/West Port beach - remember to bring your surfboard! Portavadie which has a spa with infinity pool is reached by a short ferry ride (as foot passengers) from Tarbert, a popular option with kids and adults alike! Make a day of it with dinner in one of their restaurants before getting the ferry back - watching out for porpoises! Skipness is a short drive from the house, and it features a castle along with beach and ’seafood shack’ where you will find some of the best seafood in the area - seasonal opening hours, so check before you go.
