Lynton Cottage can be found in the popular seaside village of Combe Martin, which is on Devon’s stunning north coastline. With its spacious and well appointed accommodation and floral garden, this holiday cottage is ideal for a family wanting plenty of space. Within walking distance is most of Combe Martin’s convenience and attractions, including its award winning sandy beach, secluded bays and the added attraction of rock pooling in the numerous large rock pools. Along the 2 mile main street are a selection of good inns, cafés, post office and local shops. Kayaking and body boarding are available from Combe Martin’s sea front shops, with tuition available from experienced staff. A must see in the village is the famous Grade II listed Pack o’ Cards inn, built with 52 windows, 4 decks and 13 rooms.
During your stay there is plenty to do, Combe Martin has its own museum with the Dinosaur and Wildlife Park located within 25 acres of land, just a short distance from the cottage. Exmoor Zoo is just 10 miles from the property. The larger seaside town of Ilfracombe is just 5 miles away, and its highlights include the harbour and the famous ‘Verity’ statue, the Victorian Tunnels beach and Landmark Theatre. There is also a good range of shops and amenities. Other highlights in the area are Watermouth Castle, the cliff railway between Lynton and Lynmouth and there is great walking on Exmoor. Or why not take a steam train over parts of Exmoor, with the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway situated at Woody Bay Station? At Woolacombe and Croyde, you will find some of the best surfing and family beaches in the country. There is also cycling on the Tarka Trail, golf, horse riding and sea fishing trips available locally.
