The living room has a large inglenook fireplace with a multi-fuel burner, perfect to curl up beside during the cooler evenings. The kitchen is well equipped to permit dining at home, and there is a modern shower room. At the front is the enclosed, south facing garden with garden furniture, perfect to relax within. There are steep stairs leading up to two bedrooms, a bunk bed (double bed on bottom, single above), and then walk through to the master double bedroom.
The cottage is within walking distance to the long wide sandy beaches and undulating sand dunes (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a National Nature Reserve). There are endless possibilities for long or short walks, and dogs are welcome. The beautiful sandy beach, where a public footpath, just 50 yards from doorstep, crosses over farmland to the dunes and sandy beach, a firm favourite with families throughout year. During the winter months, the famous Horsey seal colony extends from neighbouring Horsey to Winterton, and there are numerous seal pups on the beach and in the sand dunes. The area is also home to a rare bird colony of Little Terns.
Sea Palling has a glorious sandy beach backed with sand dunes, perfect for picnics and plenty of open areas for walking and letting the dogs run freely. The village shop is just a few yards away and is also home to a local fish shop, café and pub with music (seasonal) serving food all day. It also has an amusement arcade, children’s playground and water sports shop, where you can hire water sports equipment. The beach is popular for sightings of local seal colonies, has a lifeguard (seasonal) and there are boat launching facilities.
The famous Norfolk Broads, a haven for bird and wildlife, is just a short drive. The expanse of waterway is best explored by daily boat and river trips. Wroxham, 12 miles, known as the capital of the Broads, has waterside restaurants, cafés, shops and pubs. Take a ride on the miniature Bure Valley steam gauge railway and enjoy a trip to the pretty market town of Aylsham. Wroxham train station offers railway trips to the seaside and city of Norwich.
