Millbank is a luxurious and spacious four-bedroom holiday home overlooking the pituresque River Sid in the regency coastal town of Sidmouth. Millbank has been refurbished throughout, the accommodation is presented to the highest standard with tasteful and comfortable furnishings and retains many beautiful period features. As you enter the property, head into the kitchen/ diner, where after a fun-filled day exploring the coastline, you can gather your friends and family around the dining table for a celebratory home-cooked meal and relax on the sofas in the spacious living room to watch a film. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need for your stay. The utility area next door has a washing machine, tumble dryer, separate toilet as well as an area for storing coats and shoes. The living room has French doors opening out into the beautiful, large and sunny enclosed rear garden which has a lawn, outdoor seating and is surrounded by mature trees and shrubs.
Heading upstairs to the first floor, two beautiful and bright bedrooms await. The spacious master bedroom has a small en-suite shower room, as well as a Smart TV. A door leads out onto a balcony with a bistro set; ideal for watching the world go by! This bedroom also enjoys views of the picturesque River Sid. The double bedroom on the first floor has garden views. On the second floor, there are two further bedrooms, both with zip and link beds. The family bathroom is situated midway up the stairs to the second floor and has a bath and a shower cubicle.
Step outside and you are within an easy walking distance to many shops, restaurants, pubs and the picturesque and tranquil beach with its long and level esplanade. Stroll along taking in the beautiful views of the Jurassic coastline which stretches for 95 miles and has over 185 million years of history. Towards the western end, the beach rises to a sandstone promontory where you can find Jacobs Ladder and Connaught Gardens, separating the Esplanade from the Western Beach and beautiful soft sand at low tide. The town and the seafront offer a wide range of sporting activities, while quiet serenity can be enjoyed in the town’s parks and gardens. Sidmouth’s largest park, The Byes, is a minute’s walk from Millbank and affords a tranquil environment for a riverside stroll or cycle. Sidmouth offers a variety of interests to all visitors - young and old alike. Most of the surrounding countryside has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or is owned by the National Trust. The nationally renowned South West Coastal Path can easily be accessed via Salcombe Hill which rises majestically just behind Millbank. Sidmouth is also home to a thriving theatre and cinema, as well as a swimming pool, leisure centre and two local museums.
Millbank is within easy reach of local attractions, including Sidmouth’s very own world-famous donkey sanctuary, Pecorama (including the Beer Heights Light Railway), Crealy Farm Adventure Park, the cathedral city of Exeter, Dartmoor National Park and the World of Country Life at Exmouth. Millbank really is a perfect place for guests looking to enjoy the peace and quiet of a coastal Devon beauty spot while also having all local amenities within a few minutes’ walk.
