Morlich is a spacious single storey, detached house situated in an elevated position in the charming and renowned west coast village of Gairloch. Accessed via a quiet lane and surrounded by its own gardens, it offers peace and seclusion in a lovely setting. The main living area is open plan, with large picture windows drinking in the amazing sea and mountain views, with Gairloch bay in the foreground and the Isle of Skye clearly visible in the distance. This delightful room is spacious, with plenty of comfortable seating for six, a large dining table and a well-equipped, bright, contemporary kitchen. There is a family bathroom with bath and shower and four good-sized bedrooms, one with an en-suite bathroom. The gardens are mainly lawned, with small sloping banks with shrubs and trees. There is a further area of garden which is enclosed within the grounds, accessed via a low flight of steps leading down to a wild country garden with small stone walls.
There are many wonderful walks direct from the house and plenty of facilities within 300 yards, including a selection of small shops, cafés, pub and restaurants. The immediate area is renowned for its beaches and stunning shoreline, such as the sweeping sandy bay of Big Sand, with miles of unspoilt beach and high sand dunes. There are also some interesting caves to explore close by. The area is famed for its wealth of wildlife; dolphins, seals, whales and a wide variety of sea-birds are all spotted in the region. Golf, fishing, pony trekking, cycling, canoeing, kayaking and sailing are all local pastimes. Fishing trips and sea exploration excursions are available from the pier in Gairloch. The nearby Torridon Hills are a walkers and climber’s paradise. Warmed by the Gulf Stream, this beautiful region of the west Highlands is a unique area, where palm trees and rare plants flourish; the sub-tropical gardens at Inverewe bear testament to this and are well worth a visit. With unspoilt sandy beaches and superb scenery, this is an ideal holiday base for families and all ages. Beach 500 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 300 yards.
