With a red pantile roof and located on the historic harbourside at Cellardyke, this beautifully presented, terraced fisherman’s cottage boasts spectacular views over the picture postcard harbour, Firth of Forth and Isle of May. Nautilus Cottage has been lovingly renovated, and provides contemporary furnishings, spacious accommodation and a cosy woodburner, ideal whatever the weather outside. In this quiet location, this is the perfect spot in which to relax and enjoy the area with friends and family. The harbour has a small sandy beach and there is a bar, restaurant, children’s play park and small local shop.
Anstruther is within walking distance, with its working harbour, shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, and you can enjoy fish and chips from the award-winning restaurant. Home to the Scottish Fisheries Museum, there are boat trips from the harbour to the Isle of May, where there is the world renowned bird sanctuary and nature reserve, famous for puffins and seals.
The Fife Coastal Path runs through the village, with historic castles, pretty fishing villages and many beautiful beaches and coves along the way. The ancient university town of St Andrews is 9 miles away, famous for its golf courses. Other golf courses close by include Anstruther, 1 mile, Crail and Kings Barns, both 5 miles. At the cottage there are built-in golf bag stands for you to store your golf equipment. For fishing enthusiasts, why not try your hand at crab, lobster and cod fishing (licence required) which are available in the local area?
