This fantastic cottage in a quiet part of Inverness is finished to a good standard, and is comfortable for the whole family to enjoy a break. The location is peaceful which is surprising considering how close the city centre is. Within 15 minutes you’re in the centre, beside the River Ness with the castle towering over you! The centre of Inverness is brilliant with an amazing food and drink scene, loads of fascinating history and both manmade and natural beauty all around. It is situated on the Moray Firth, at the mouth of the River Ness, and only 10 minutes’ drive from gargantuan Loch Ness. You can see Ben Wyvis (the munro) from the centre of the city, and it looks particularly impressive covered in snow during the winter. Inverness is the official gateway to the Scottish Highlands, and you can explore a different part of this great, wild region every day of your holiday when based at New Cottage. That’s the advantage of staying in the city, you get to go in a different direction, to different parts of the Highlands each day of your holiday. North Coast 500 to the north one day, Culloden Battlefield and Nairn beaches to the east on another, the Cairngorms National Park in the south and Loch Ness and Skye beyond to the west as a real treat another day. The possibilities for adventures and exploration are endless. After all the trips in all directions returning to New Cottage is a treat. It’s a great place to rest up, recharge and get ready to explore again.
