North Huckham is positioned on the edge of Exmoor, a short distance from the village of Bridgetown, and is an ideal destination for those wanting to fully appreciate the beauty and tranquillity this area of the country has to offer. The house is accessed by a rough track and is set within a large garden, and has views over its own private pond. On a clear evening, due to Exmoor’s Dark Sky status, the heavens will be filled with the most amazing starscape. The town of Dulverton is a short drive away and offers a good range of local shops and some very good tea rooms and restaurants. There is superb scenery and walking on the South West Coast Path or inland on Exmoor and many other places to visit to make a memorable holiday. The Victorian villages of Lynmouth and Lynton are famous for the National Trust’s Watersmeet House with a dramatic river gorge valley and the Cliff Railway. The coastal town of Minehead is nearby where you will find a long sandy beach and a picturesque harbour, a good selection of shops and other amenities. The West Somerset Railway is the longest heritage railway in England for those with an interest in stream engines. The National Trust’s Dunster Castle and village, with its beautiful terraced gardens, Deer Park and Mill, make for an interesting day out as well as Porlock Weir. There are beaches at Dunster and Blue Anchor for all to enjoy. Beach 16 miles. Shop 7 miles, pub 2 miles and restaurant 5 miles.
