"This beautiful, 18th century stone-built cottage offers a comfortable stay in the delightful little village of Bewerley, which is tucked away just outside the picturesque town of Pateley Bridge. This mid-terraced cottage has plenty of character and has kept all its original features with a large fireplace and wood burner, exposed stone and wooden beams throughout, giving you that instant country cottage feel. Oak Cottage offers both couples and families a luxury holiday retreat whilst being ideally located to explore all that the Nidderdale and Yorkshire Dales has to offer.
The property is set over 3 levels, you enter the property into the living area, which is a lovely warm, comfortable space where you can cosy up in front of the wood burner which will keep you warm on the colder evenings. On the same floor you have a dining area and a well presented, well equipped kitchen which has plenty of room for food preparation. From the kitchen you gain access to the rear patio area which is a great place to sit and relax in the sun with a morning coffee and the newspapers. With the cottage having front and rear patio areas you can chase the sun and sit out all day long should you wish.
Up the winding, narrow stairs onto the first floor is the beautifully presented master bedroom with a kingsize bed, oak bedroom furniture and a lovely view of the village green. Also on the first floor, the bathroom has recently been renovated and presents a gorgeous roll top bathtub, ideal for a long soak after a day exploring. In addition, there is also a large shower cubicle and heated towel rail. Up the next winding flight of stairs is another large bedroom with kingsize bed, also complimented by oak bedroom furniture, and a light and airy single bedroom with views across the fields to the rear of the cottage.
With the cottage situated less than a mile from Pateley Bridge High Street, the local pubs and restaurants are within easy reach. Explore the vast countryside of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which are both packed with rolling hills stretching as far as the eye can see. The area is full of bike trails and fantastic scenic walks, so you will never struggle to find something to keep you entertained. Alternatively, the beautiful cathedral city of Ripon is only 11 miles away along with the spa town of Harrogate 30 minutes by car and the historic city of York only a further 30 minutes. Local attractions include the magnificent Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Park near Ripon, Brimham Rocks near Summerbridge and How Stean Gorge near Lofthouse which are all a must. If you did want to leave the driving for another day there are great activities available on the doorstep, with the Nidderdale Way running staight through Bewerley for walkers and for cyclists Bewerley sits at the foot of the Tour de Yorkshire’s infamous Cote de Greenhow Hill if you’re up for the challenge! For a more sedate form of riding Bewerley Riding Centre in the village caters for novice and experienced horse riders alike."
