There’s miles of idyllic coastline to explore close to Old Byre Cottage, with picture perfect beaches and dunes, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Just down the road you’ll find Harlech, home to the imposing UNESCO World Heritage Site of Harlech Castle. Bustling Barmouth is also only a short distance, take a walk along the promenade and indulge in some fish and chips. An iconic feature of the town is Barmouth Bridge, an over 150-year-old railway viaduct across the Mawddach Estuary. It is half a mile in length, with a wooden promenade suitable for pedestrians or cyclists, which now forms part of the Wales Coast Path and the Lon Las Cymru Cycle Network. Nantcol waterfalls are just 2 miles away and offer a great day out, a perfect place for a family picnic whilst playing in the stream.
