Situated in the heart of the Cornwall’s Mining Heritage, Little Rosewarne offers tranquillity nestled within a small holding of 10 acres. Visit the pigs and the ducks, or why not help with the egg collection? These two properties (refs UK36514 and UK36516) have been sympathetically renovated with high lofted ceilings and stunning panoramic views across the countryside, offering all the modern conveniences that you would expect for modern living. Underfloor heating, oak and slate floors complement the oak furniture and the cosy leather settees, whilst the granite worktop enhances the modern kitchen. There really is everything that you will need to make your holiday, from the traditional Cornish hamper to the selection of toys and equipment from babies upwards. There is ample parking and storage for bikes, kayaks, and surfboards, as well as buckets, spades, and crabbing lines for the younger ones.
The National Trust Godolphin Estate borders the grounds. For those that watched ’Poldark’, you will find Godolphin House which was used as a backdrop in the series. Enjoy the scenery as you walk along the local footpaths and see how many different types of wildlife you can see. This is an ideal base to explore the area, with the ancient town of Helston 4¾ miles away. This is the home of the famous Furry Dance, walk around the museum, visit Flambards with its exhibitions which are undercover, walk around the gardens and enjoy the rides suitable for all ages. The picturesque village of Porthleven is next to Helston, famous for its harbour where you will often see children with their crabbing lines sitting on the edge or looking in the rock pools at low tide. Popular with surfers, please be wary this is not for novices, it is fascinating to watch them catch the waves. Wander around looking at the local crafts, visit the farmer’s market, and enjoy a drink or an ice-cream admiring the view.
For gardeners you are in for a treat, with Trebah and Glendurgan near Falmouth 17¾ miles away. Whilst you’re in this lovely town, explore the Maritime Museum or walk around historic Pendennis Castle and admire the spectacular views. Why not book a fishing trip and catch something for your tea? Penzance is 10 miles away, from here you can go to the ancient market town of Marazion. The sandy beaches are spectacular, the water is crystal clear and when the tide is out you can follow the footsteps of pilgrims and a legendary giant to St Michaels Mount.
Truro is the City of Cornwall, 23½ miles away, lying on the edge of the River Allen. Here you can wander around the cobbled streets marvelling at the historic buildings and the beautiful cathedral. You will be spoilt for choice with the selection of small shops, restaurants, cafés and bars. Just before Truro, you can catch the King Harry Ferry and cross the river to St Mawes, it is like walking back in history. Meander through the small streets looking at the local shops, walk to the castle and then head back to one of the local coffee shops for refreshment.
After all the excitement, it is lovely to head back to the property, light the barbecue or sit and admire the view from the outside terrace.
These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 8 guests.
