Fresh locally caught fish can be bought daily (weather permitting) from the fishermen’s huts along the beach. It is a quintessential coastal town.

As well as coastal walks, the River Alde and surrounding areas can be explored by foot. Minsmere Bird Sanctuary lies just up the coast towards Southwold. The town of Southwold is ideal for visiting the famous Adnams Brewery, or just up the Sailors’ Path, following the River Alde, is Snape, famous for the Snape Maltings Concert Hall. The small historical Roman town of Aldeburgh is a cultural tourist destination. Shop and pub ½ mile, restaurant 1 mile.
