This immaculately presented, detached, 1930s house has breathtaking views across open countryside towards Carisbrooke Castle and the surrounding area. This holiday property, next to the owner’s home, has beautifully presented gardens from which to take in the scenery, and a decked area at the bottom of the garden. For walking enthusiasts, the popular Tennyson Trail starts just 50 yards across the road from the property, and for cyclists there are many routes to choose from. National Trust Carisbrooke Castle and the nearby Carisbrooke Priory are worthy of a visit. In the town of Newport, a couple of miles away, there is a good selection of shops, restaurants and pubs. There are also local markets on Tuesdays and Fridays, an arts complex at the old quay and a multiplex cinema. Newport is an ideal base from which to tour the island, either by car or by bus. All the island’s attractions are within easy reach, including Osborne House, Calbourne Water Mill, Ventnor Botanic Gardens, The Needles, NT properties, harbours at Cowes and Yarmouth, seaside resorts, zoos and amusement parks. There are many beautiful walks to discover along the heritage coastline, and plenty of sandy or shingle beaches, coves and bays. Other outdoor pursuits include horse riding, fishing (1/2 mile away) and golf. Beach 5 miles. Shop 600 yards, pub and restaurant 250 yards.
