With stunning views of the Vale of Ffestiniog from the rear garden, this cosy, semi-detached Victorian holiday property, adjacent to the owner’s home is ideal for families with children. You can relax in the garden, dine al fresco, and listen to the sound of the little steam engines of the Ffestiniog Railway in the distance. From the holiday property, it’s just a short distance to the village of Maentwrog which offers two pubs serving delicious Welsh food. Visit the Snowdonia National Park centre at Plas Tan y Bwlch and enjoy the gardens or afternoon tea in the tearoom, or stroll along to Tan-y-Bwlch station and hop on board the Ffestiniog Railway for a journey either to the coast at Porthmadog, or up to the hills in Blaenau Ffestiniog. At Porthmadog, be sure to take your bucket and spade and visit the lovely sandy beach at Black Rock Sands, or have a day out in the fascinating Italianate village of Portmeirion, built by Sir Clough Williams Ellis. Formerly the slate quarrying capital of the world, Blaenau Ffestiniog has quickly established itself for those seeking exciting adrenaline attractions, with Zip World offering the largest zip wire zone in the world, as you zoom high over the old slate quarries, the unique Bounce Below offers a trampoline net experience deep underground, and the Stiniog Downhill Bike Trails has fun for keen mountain bikers. Of course, you can also go underground and experience the world of the Victorian slate miner too at Llechwedd Slate Quarry. The leafy forest at Coed-y-Brenin is within easy reach, as is the alpine village of Betws-y-Coed, the Gateway to Snowdonia. Beach 10 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
