Pentreath is a modern property located in the grounds of Tregenna Castle, set in 72 acres this is a beautiful resort to have as a base to explore West Cornwall. The property is set over three floors so not suitable for people with mobility issues. Downstairs is open plan with a well-equipped kitchen/dinner leading to a comfortable lounge area, the owner has provided a large Smart TV with Amazon Prime, Netflix and Disney channels, and a Sonos bluetooth speaker. On the first floor is the family bathroom with overhead shower, a double bedroom, and a twin room. On the top floor is the master ensuite, the walls follow the angle of the roof, there is plenty of headroom in the middle of the room.
The train station is only 0.4 miles away, and with excellent bus routes you do not need to have a car to see all the sights, jump on and off the open top bus and explore the area. There is a 15-20 min walk to the town where you can visit the Tate Art Gallery, the Barbara Hepworth Museum and the St Ives School of Painting, there is an abundance of local retailers and plenty of choice for eating and drinking.
There are multiple beaches to choose from the closest one is a 15 min walk 0.3 miles is the flat sandy Porthminster beach, popular with families it is sheltered from the winds in the winter you can watch the waves of the Atlantic crashing against Godrevy Lighthouse. Porthmister café specialises in Mediterranean and Asian seafood is now open during the winter (check the opening hours).
If you want to spoil yourself book a table at the restaurant enjoy a freshly prepared meal overlooking spectacular panoramic views of St Ives Bay. St Ives in in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there is plenty to see from wildlife to fauna, the coastal walks are breath-taking at any time of the year. Penzance is the nearest large town, 20-min drive it has a bustling harbour and as you would expect a great place to buy fresh fish, visit the famous St Michaels Mount in Newlyn, or pop into the picturesque village of Mousehole well worth a visit. There is so much to see and do you will be booking another visit very soon.
