Mevagissey has charmed its visitors for hundreds of years, with narrow streets to explore, boutique shops, restaurants and pubs. Catch the Fowey Ferry from the beautiful harbour to breath-taking Fowey, tucked away in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Here a regatta is held once a year, with sights and sounds creating an almost carnival atmosphere whilst the Christmas market is a joy to experience. A short distance away lies the world-renowned Eden Project, the world’s largest indoor rainforest and the sublime Lost Gardens of Heligan. The beaches around this part of the Cornish coast are stunning, vast lengths of golden or white sand, with rock pools, bays and inlets to discover. Visit St Austell, a town with an incredible mining heritage or Charlestown, where you take a step back in history as you cast eyes on a small fleet of tall ships, unspoilt quayside, whilst the shipwreck museum whisks you back over the centuries, with tales of smuggling and wrecking abound! Beach ½ mile.
