A short walk takes you into Coupar Angus with a few shops, a restaurant, hotel and a pub.
After a busy day out, visitors can relax and stroll through the grounds (by prior arrangement with the owner) and enjoy the ever-changing landscape, from the snowdrop walk in February/March going through to daffodils and bluebells as spring progresses.
The owner is developing the gardens to enhance and preserve the essence of Princeland, with sympathetic planting in various styles from Himalayan garden area to topiary and lawns. There is plenty of wildlife to look out for in the gardens; amongst the regular visitors are red squirrels, hedgehogs, voles, and roe deer. There are many small birds including blue tits, woodpeckers, tree creepers, robins, finches, yellowhammers nuthatches and siskins.
Perthshire has an excellent range of outdoor pursuits to suit all ages. Trout fishing is available on the River Tay, River Isla, and many local lochs. For relaxing walks through the countryside and more strenuous hill walking and mountain climbing, the Perthshire and Angus hills are within easy reach. There is skiing only 30 minutes away at Glenshee in the winter months. There are two championship golf courses (Rosemount and Landsdowne) and a 9-hole course 5 minutes away at Blairgowrie Golf Club, with further courses at Murrayshall, Alyth and the Old Golf Course at St Andrews.
There are designated cycle friendly roads around Coupar Angus and other parts of Perthshire. There are swimming pools in Blairowrie and Dundee. There is a large public park with excellent childrens’ play area and tennis courts in Coupar Angus.
A short drive will take you to the cities of Perth and Dundee, both with plenty of activities and culture on offer from the V&A Museum to art galleries, theatres, and other leisure pursuits. Visit distilleries, beautiful gardens, and historic castles from Scone Castle to Glamis. This is an ideal spot for a varied and relaxing holiday. Beach 18½ miles. Shop, pub, and restaurant 200 yards.
