Bethesda is a former slate town on the fringes of the Snowdonia National Park and is now famously the home of North Wales’ most exciting attraction, Zip World. The Ogwen Valley is less than a mile away and is a superb spot for outdoor enthusiasts, with exhilarating walking opportunities, and Snowdon itself is easily accessible from nearby Llanberris. Quarry Cottage also offers storage for bikes, with a traffic-free cycle route starting in Bethesda and heading towards the university town of Bangor, home of the National Trust’s Penrhyn Castle. Caernarfon and Conwy with their magnificent castles are nearby, and the Isle of Anglesey with its 125 miles of coastline, is easily accessible. Beach 7 miles. Shop and restaurant ½ mile, pub ¼ mile.
