Set quietly off the main street, this delightful, single storey cottage lies in a lovely lochside village. It is ideally placed to enjoy the surrounding area with numerous walks available, from scenic coastal walks to forest trails. With sailing, swimming, riding, fishing, golf, boat trips and water sports all close by, there is sure to be something for everyone. Warmed by the gulf stream, the area has many beautiful gardens to visit, including National Trust Threave Gardens. The Galloway Forest Park is close by and is central to 5 of the 7Stanes, ideal for cyclists and mountain bikers. Castle Douglas, known as the ’Food Town’ is 3 miles away. Food Town Day is held in June and is designed to show people all that’s great about local produce. The main street closes to allow traders to set up their food stalls with everything from artisan breads, cakes, pies, fish and meat - a day not to be missed. Stroll to the marina or enjoy a meal in the local pub, which is just 50 yards from the cottage. Fishing is available from the lochside, by arrangement with the owner.
