Welcome to Riverbank Cottage! This cottage is set in the heart of Broadford on the south east of Skye, a mere 10-minute drive from the Skye Bridge, the perfect base to start your Skye adventure. The cottage is very bright, with a well-equipped kitchen and a lovely modern bathroom too. Sit in the living room morning, noon or night and enjoy the view up towards Beinn na Caillich.
The south of Skye can be reached not only by the bridge but also the Mallaig to Armadale ferry, or by the Glen Elg to Kylerhea Ferry which is one of the few remaining turn point ferries. At the south of the island you will find Sleat, which is at the back of the Cuillin mountain range, where you can take a boat trip to the inlets at the Cuillins. For those that enjoy walking, you can walk one or all of the Cuillins.
There are lovely secluded beaches to the south and west of the island, and also further north over at Dunvegan, past the castle which is the seat of the MacLeod family and home to the Fairy Flag. From Waternish you can go on a RIB boat trip out to St Kilda and see the birdlife, which includes gannets, fulmars and puffins. A ferry can take you over to the Isle of Raasay and that is another good spot for walking or cycling, you can also visit their own gin distillery whilst waiting for your return ferry.
For those that are energetic, not only will you find many bays and lochs to kayak in and roads to cycle or run on, there are also a few outdoor centres with activities for all the family, from archery to rock climbing. You will find that the week will pass quickly due to all the sightseeing and activities you do. One thing that will happen on a daily basis is you will return to the cottage and plan your next day’s trip or hike with your favourite drink in hand and reminisce on the adventure so far on the misty Isle of Skye.
Riverbank Cottage can be booked with Riverbank Apartment (ref UK44347) to accommodate up to 6 guests.
