Riversdale Cottage is an attractive detached cottage with a lovely garden for sitting out on sunny days. Just a few minutes walk to the conservation village of St Fillans on the shores of Loch Earn with a shop, coffee shop and two hotels serving quality food, wine, ales and whisky. Situated within Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, you are surrounded by spectacular scenery of mountains and lochs and there is so much to do to suit all tastes. From the cottage you can walk into the countryside, cycle along the loch side or on the official cycle path towards Comrie.
The local golf club, Sandy Lyle’s favourite small Scottish golf course, is adjacent and features a challenging 9-hole course. The café/restaurant at the Golf Club is open to non-members (seasonal) and is definitely worth a visit. Loch Earn offers water sports, fishing and small lochside beaches for paddling and picnics. For days out, visit the roaring Falls of Dochart at Killin, or Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre near Comrie. The pretty tourist town of Callander is well worth a visit with an abundance of eclectic shops, tea shops, restaurants and pubs. For guests interested in history and culture, there are ancient monuments and castles to visit, whisky distilleries and tales of folklore and clans in the area.
You may prefer to just relax on your holiday and Riversdale is cosy and welcoming. All on the ground floor, the kitchen is well equipped with contemporary appliances, a cosy living room with dining table is perfect for relaxing with a book on a lazy afternoon. The family shower room has a large walk in shower cubicle and there are two attractively furnished bedrooms, one with a kingsize bed and the other with twin beds. There is ample outside space including a seating area providing the perfect spot for afternoon tea where you can listen to the river flow by and look out for wild birds, red squirrels and sometimes a visiting deer.
