Rose Cottage is one of a kind, just steps away from the golden beach stretching from the quaint village of Sandsend to the neighbouring historic town of Whitby. Stepping inside is like taking a glimpse back in time, with exposed stone walls and fabulous ship timbers which have been used in the construction. The cottage is an eclectic blend of the old and new, with delightful original features whilst being renovated in 2023 to provide guests with an inviting and comfortable stay by the coast.
On the ground floor you have the open plan kitchen with a dining area, the kitchen has everything you could wish for; here you can create all of your favourite meals to enjoy either at the dining table together, or at the breakfast bar where you can enjoy the sea views. The living room is cosy with sofas around the fireplace. Take the stairs up to the first floor, this handmade staircase has been lovingly carved from a local tree. There are two beautifully presented bedrooms, a double as well as a twin bedroom making this perfect for friends staying together as well as families. Outside in the garden, you can take in the fresh sea air whilst watching the waves, a wonderful spot to soak up the sunshine. Sandsend is very popular with fishermen, surfers, walkers as well as golfers who visit the golf club perched up on the cliff top. The beach has soft golden sand, and children enjoy playing at the river mouth, paddling amongst the ducks. There are a couple of cafes beside the beach, where you can watch the waves, as well as a traditional pub with a beer garden, a village shop as well as an award-winning restaurant.
The Cleveland Way walking trail runs through Sandsend connecting you with the coastal destinations of Staithes, Runswick Bay and Saltburn to the north, and Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and Scarborough to the south.
