Rose Rigg Cottage is situated in the quiet village of Smithfield in north Cumbria, close to not only the many and varied attractions of Cumbria, but the North Pennines and over the border into Scotland. Smithfield is a small village roughly equidistant from the larger market towns of Longtown and Brampton, and is only 6 miles from the border city of Carlisle. With miles of quiet country lanes right from your doorstep at Rose Rigg Cottage, walkers and cyclists are well catered for.
Whilst staying at here, you are only a short drive to enjoy one of the most beautiful regions in the UK. A must is a visit to Hadrian’s Wall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can walk parts of the wall and enjoy its dramatic landscape. Explore the beauty of the Lake District National Park with its majestic mountains and lakes.
