Salt Pot Cottage is a beautiful stone-built barn conversion set just outside the Yorkshire Dales National Park, located on the edge of the village of Glusburn, approximately 4 miles from the delightful market town of Skipton. The property is stylishly decorated and furnished throughout, offering a fantastic holiday retreat, ideally situated to explore the stunning Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Yorkshire Dales National Parks.
From the patio area to the front door entrance, you are greeted by the spacious main open plan living area. At one end is a well-equipped, well-presented kitchen for all your culinary needs, with a dining area, and at the far end, a comfy sofa and chairs along with a Smart TV, an ideal area to kick back and relax with a glass or two of red wine. Up from the living area is a snug area, ideal for children to have their own space to play and wind down after exploring this stunning area. On the same floor, there are two bedrooms, all with fresh cotton linen, guaranteeing a perfect night’s sleep. Across from the bedrooms is the lovely main bathroom which boasts a bath, shower cubicle and heated towel rail. The main patio is perfect for watching the sun go down in the evening whilst taking in the stunning views of the rolling hills that surround the property. Close by is the market town of Skipton, also known as ’The Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales’ which has so much to offer visitors, from a great selection of independent shops and restaurants, to the ancient castle which is open daily. The market sits on the cobbled area either side of the main thoroughfare. With its wonderful canal path and pretty, long boats, you can book a day’s boat ride and enjoy the stunning Yorkshire Dales countryside from the water. Haworth is also close by and is known its association with the Brontë sisters and the preserved heritage Keighley and Worth Valley Railway.
Bolton Abbey is just a short drive away with lots of walks on the magnificent 30,000-acre Devonshire estate with picture-perfect picnic spots beside the river. Whether you want to walk or cycle the Yorkshire Dales, it is full of bike trails and fantastic, scenic walks. Other towns and villages close by are Ilkley, Otley, Harrogate and a little further afield Leeds and York, all easily accessed by car. Should you wish to leave the cooking to someone else, there is a wonderful pub less than a mile from the cottage which serves locally sourced food and great selection of local ales.
