From here, steps lead down to the large living room with double doors opening onto the balcony, again to make the most of those fabulous views. The bedrooms continue that luxury feel, the master has an en-suite shower room and two of the rooms have garden access, so the perfect place to sit with your morning coffee.

Walkers are well catered for in Portpatrick with spectacular cliff paths in both directions, where you can follow the path past Dunskey Castle to Knockinaam, or past several secluded bays to Killantringan Lighthouse. The walk from the village to Killantringan is the start of the Southern Upland Way.
