Built in 2018, Shepley Mews is a modern, terraced cottage located in the historic and picturesque village of Old Glossop, on the edge of the Peak District National Park. Perfect for families, couples, or friends, it features a hot tub that comfortably accommodates four adults (or three if using the recliner seat). There is much to do in the immediate area, with nearby Manor Park providing a wonderful spot for a summer picnic. The park also offers bowling greens, semi-natural woodland, a children’s play area, and tennis courts. Just a few minutes’ walk will take you to a pub serving traditional food, with an Indian restaurant upstairs.
Glossop town centre, less than a mile away, is a lively former mill town with a wealth of shops, pubs, and eateries, as well as a golf course with a pay-per-play scheme. Ideally located for exploring the nearby hills, valleys, paths, and trails of the magnificent Peak District National Park, Shepley Mews provides access to a variety of attractions.
A 10-minute drive will take you to the peaceful village of Hayfield, featured in the BBC1 TV drama series, The Village. Hayfield is popular with walkers due to its proximity to the moorlands of Kinder Scout and Bleaklow. Edale, the traditional start/end of the long-distance footpath Pennine Way, is around 30 minutes away and caters well to visitors with its collection of pubs, cafés, and restaurants.
The spa town of Buxton, with its majestic Pavilion Gardens and stunning architecture, and the famous flooded underground cave systems of Blue John, Treak Cliff, and Speedwell Cavern in Castleton, can also be reached in around 30 minutes. Additionally, Lyme Park and Hall, where Pride and Prejudice was filmed, is within easy reach. Finally, Glossop has a train station providing easy access to Manchester in just half an hour, offering all the amenities and attractions of a big city. Shop ¾ mile, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
