Sherrabeg Cottage and its private grounds are located on the banks of the Spey Reservoir in the Cairngorns National Park. Originally a farmhouse, Sherrabeg Cottage has been beautifully refurbished in 2022, and sleeps up to eight people. The cosy living room has a wood burner and the kitchen/dining area is fully equipped. French doors lead out into the rear garden. There are four bedrooms, one of which has accessible access, three shower rooms and one bathroom. The property has a private driveway for guests to park on. Due to its remote location, the internet connection is slow and cannot be used for streaming purposes. However, its working agricultural and sporting landscape makes up for this by offering guests total immersion into the rural lifestyle of those living in the Scottish Highlands.
Sherrabeg Cottage is rurally located, about 4 miles from the village of Laggan which sits beside the road that runs between Newtonmore and Spean Bridge, linking the central Highlands with the west coast. The hit BBC drama series ‘Monarch of the Glen’ was mostly filmed in Laggan and the surrounding area. Laggan has a licensed general stores, a gift shop/gallery/café, local hotel, pony trekking centre and mountain biking centre with café, facilities and over 20 miles of purpose-built mountain bike trails. With a wide range of outdoor activities on your doorstep, there is plenty for guests to do and see at Sherrabeg Cottage and with the Highland villages of Kingussie and Newtonmore being just a 15 minutes’ drive, there are plenty of local amenities to enjoy. Although rurally located, Sherrabeg Cottage is the perfect, central spot to explore Scotland as you are within an hour’s drive to Inverness, Fort William and Aviemore and within easy reach of many golf courses and the ski centres at Aonach Mor and Cairngorm. Beach 9¾ miles.
