Slant End Cottage is a wonderful end terraced cottage that can be found in the West Yorkshire village of Linthwaite, just 3 miles from centre of Huddersfield and on the edge of the Peak District National Park. Renovated throughout in 2021, the property has been beautifully furnished with wonderful attention detail. Set in an elevated position it also boasts wonderful long distance views over the surrounding countryside.
The village of Linthwaite is set in the stunning Colne Valley, together with neighbouring Marsden, Slaithwaite and Golcar and Milnsbridge. It’s home to a good selection of local amenities including food serving pubs, takeaways and a convenience store. Quite wonderfully Linthwaite Mill has also been splendidly converted into the ’Titanic Spa’, the first established eco-spa in the country and is a mere 15 minute walk (although up and down hill).
The canalside mill village of Slaithwaite is just 5 minutes down the road and in 2021 was voted one of the best places to live. Marsden is 10 minutes away and plays host to a fabulous jazz festival each October, as well as being home to Stanedge Tunnel and Visitor Centre. Holmfirth is around 20 minutes and although most recognised from ’Last of the Summer Wine’, is uniquely also home to its own vineyard. The Peak District National Park is less than 5 miles, and for anyone wanting to venture further afield an hour’s drive can take you to the historic walled city of York, Harrogate, Leeds or even Skipton. You really are spoilt for choice!
