Located in the Hampshire village of Soberton, South Downs Lodge is a spacious one-bedroom lodge with a fully-equipped kitchen, lliving and dining area, as well as a lovely bedroom, en-suite shower room and full central heating. Its unique location sitting directly on te Meon Valley Trail offers both horse riding holidays and unique stays for walkers and cyclists. The lodge itself is set in 5 acres with stables and several horses and ponies, which make up the South Downs Trekking and Riding School. Speak to the owners directly to arrange horse riding and various treks available.
This is perfect for nature lovers where various birds of prey can be seen including red kite, buzzards, owls, deer and pheasants can be observed. The lodge settled in the corner has direct access onto the old railway line offers interesting local country walks, and hacking with several lovely pubs within walking distance. The peace and tranquillity of Soberton and surrounding villages ensure a most relaxing stay.
Within easy reach are beaches at Hayling Island, Southsea and West Wittering’s and just a 30-minute drive from the nautical city of Portsmouth with Spinnaker Tower, designer outlet shopping and waterside dining at Gunwharf Quays. Day trips to the Isle of Wight and HMS Victory and the Mary Rose can also be enjoyed. The historic cathedral city of Winchester less than 25-minute drive boasting many historic attractions such as Winchester Cathedral, King Arthur’s Round Table and Jane Austen’s House.
The city is also host to a large number of events throughout the year including street theatre, jazz festivals and outdoor cinema and film events. Also known for its Christmas market with outdoor ice rink. Wander round the cobbled streets of Winchester with some of the best boutique shops and home to a thriving food scene.
