This 500-year-old listed building is located at the foot of Gold Hill, set in a quiet location, yet just a short stroll from the bustling town centre, Shaftesbury itself offers a wide range of independent shops, pubs and eateries from cafés to restaurants and is also the home to one of the most picturesque streets; Gold Hill was made famous in the Hovis advert and its charm is clear and being the highest point in Dorset the views from there are nothing short of spectacular.

The cottage itself is a is pretty Grade II listed thatched cottage and offers great accommodation for couples or families looking to enjoy everything this wonderful location has to offer. The spacious living room with wood burner is the perfect place to relax after a day’s exploring and the large kitchen/dining room is an ideal spot to grab a drink whist cooking. The bedrooms are over located on first and second floors with two doubles and a room with bunks - perfect for the kids! The elevated garden offers an idyllic sanctuary to enjoy al fresco dining or drinks on the terrace.

If you are looking to explore the wider area, the stunning cathedral city of Salisbury is just 20 miles away and is well worth a visit or if you fancy a blast of sea air the stunning Jurassic coastline and the mesmerising Lulworth Cove is just over 30 miles to the south. The cottage offers direct access to the countryside footbaths that criss-cross the Blackmore Vale, the beautiful setting for Hardy’s Tess of the D’Urbervilles. With so much to see and do in the charming county you may wish you booked a longer!
