This beautiful, unique and elegant country cottage sits in a picturesque, cobbled courtyard, once a part of the original stone outbuildings serving Maesllwch Castle home farm.
As you enter the hallway with flagstone floor, an air of tranquillity pervades the cottage, just hang your hat up and relax! The welcoming sitting area, off the entrance hall, has a wood burning stove, comfy sofas, TV/DVD and record player with a great selection of vinyl whilst the dining area has an original quirky range. The whole space enjoys large, triple aspect sash windows with shutters, a beautiful hardwood floor and bespoke furnishings. Two steps lead down to the delightful, well-equipped country style kitchen with its original fireplace, range and adequate work and storage space. There are doors leading to the cobbled courtyard and rear terrace. Perfect for entertaining, the well-designed interior is a winning feature of this fantastic cottage. Off the first-floor spacious landing there are three cool and tranquil bedrooms with quality bespoke furnishings and double height ceilings. The master suite has a king size bed with a bespoke circular window high on the wall behind it. The en-suite is light and bright with a glazed door and ’Juliette’ balcony overlooking the rear gardens. Bedroom two has views over the courtyard and a large double bed and bedroom three is a charming room with twin beds, fabulous oak beams and a Victorian open fireplace. Stable Lad’s Cottage guests have the exclusive use of a private sunny decked area in the shared gardens, a lovely spot for al fresco breakfasts or sun downers - there is also a full sized shared ’ping pong’ table under an original archway, ideal in all weathers!
Guests can look forward to a small hamper of goodies, fresh flowers, and a jar of fresh herbs from the garden when available. Deck chairs are available to set up wherever you please in the gardens as well as boules and quoits to play at your leisure. There is an outdoor tap for muddy dogs and lockable secure bike storage. Free charcoal is available for the BBQ, and there are lots of maps and guides on local walks and cycling routes.
