Stackyard Cottage is a recently refurbished, three-bedroom cottage located in Reay, on the outskirts of Thurso and on the main route of the NC500. This detached cottage sits in its own enclosed grounds with a gravelled drive for four vehicles. There is a decked area to the rear with spectacular views across the countryside.
Walking through the front door there is a porch area for hanging coats and storing footwear after a day of exploring. The hall takes you to the spacious lounge with comfy sofas and a Smart TV. This room is bright with double-aspect windows. The kitchen/dining room is located to the rear of the property with patio doors onto the decking. There is a fully equipped kitchen with a dining area that has a table and seating for five. All three bedrooms have bedside cabinets, lamps, and wardrobe space. The main bedroom has a double bed and en-suite with cubicle shower, the second bedroom has a double bed, and the third bedroom is of a good size with a single bed (this room has space for a cot, if required). The family bathroom has a bath with a shower over.
Outside, the decking area is enclosed with decorative toughened glass to block out the wind and has table and chairs to enjoy alfresco dining. There is a secure shed available to guests for storing bicycles, golf clubs or paddleboards.
Sandside Beach and Harbour are less than one mile away. Thurso is only 11 miles away and offers supermarkets, local shops, restaurants, cafes, and bars. While in the area travel to John O’Groats, the most Northern point of the UK, or head west into the county of Sutherland and visit Smoo Cave in Durness or take a day trip to the Orkney Isles. The whole area has amazing walks and spectacular scenery. Stackyard Cottage is the ideal location to set a base and explore the surrounding area. Caithness, and this property, will not disappoint. Beach less than one mile. Pub, restaurant, and cafe 5 miles. Supermarket 11 miles.
