Suncliff is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac within walking distance of the centre of Ventnor town. In addition to the main shopping streets, where you will find a selection of small supermarkets and independent shops, there is the esplanade with pubs and cafés and a wonderful beach. There are parks and gardens, museums and the Winter Gardens, which is an entertainment venue with a growing reputation for theatre, concerts, comedy, and dance shows, and there is also a restaurant and bar. On the marina you can buy the daily catch of fresh fish and seafood; boat trips are also available from here.
There are a number of good restaurants in Ventnor including one right on the beach, as well as several in the town including a vegan restaurant, and an amazing Indian restaurant, which also does take-away. If you fancy a take-away on the beach, there is a fantastic fish and chip takeaway offering locally caught fish prepared to order. Ventnor Botanic Garden lies in the remarkable microclimate at the heart of the famous ‘Undercliff’. This unique garden is protected from the cold northerly winds by chalk cliffs. In addition to enjoying the lovely gardens, it also hosts events and exhibitions and there is a restaurant and tea rooms on-site for refreshments, lunch or coffee and cake! From the Esplanade you can take a level walk along the sea wall to Bonchurch or walk along the cliff path towards Steephill Cove, a beautiful sheltered bay only accessible by foot where there is a café and very good fish restaurant. Beach ½ mile.
