Numerous walks are available from the village and include the beautiful valley of Newtondale and the majestic Hole of Horcum. Cropton Forest and Dalby Forest are both on the doorstep and offer extensive walking and cycling opportunities.
Levisham is situated 7 miles North of Pickering, an old market town full of character containing a castle, museum and is the starting point of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway which takes visitors through Levisham Station on to Grosmont and Whitby.
