Nestled in the small, picturesque village of Hebden, this 19th-century, end-terraced former lead miner’s cottage is surprisingly spacious and enjoys a quiet location in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, with beautiful views from the front patio. Extensively restored, the property retains its original character and charm, with exposed stonework, beams, wooden floors and an inglenook style fireplace.

Carefully furnished throughout, Swallows Nest makes a lovely home from which to either walk or tour the wonderful scenery of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The village of Hebden boasts a fantastic tea room just 550 yards away, and Grassington is just under 2 miles; a charming little town with a wide range of individual country shops, pubs and restaurants. Grassington also plays host to a variety of events including the Summer Music and Arts Festival, which attracts many internationally-known actors, artists and poets every year. Leave the car behind and head to Grassington or the nearby village of Burnsall on foot via the riverside footpaths. You can stop for a bite to eat and a drink in one of the local pubs, before sauntering back along the River Wharfe.

Bolton Abbey, 9 miles, is sure to thrill history buffs and children alike, with its ancient abbey and magical woodland walks. The National Trust property of Studley Royal Park and the unusual rock formations at Brimham Rocks, also a National Trust site, both make for interesting days out, and further afield lie the spa town of Harrogate and York, easily accessed and steeped in history. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
