A superb seaside holiday choice, Swallows Nest is conveniently located just a short walk from the centre of Bude and Crooklets Beach and overlooks the stunning Maer Lake Nature Reserve, internationally acknowledged as an important resting and feeding site for migrating birds. This stunning freshwater wetland reserve consists of 22 acres of grazing meadows and is a haven for birds, wildlife and wild flowers. Refurbished in 2018, this pretty, detached bungalow is perfect for a family beach side holiday or a couple’s escape at any time of year. With everything on your doorstep you can have a break from the driving and soak up the sights and sounds of the seaside and return to your little oasis at the end of the day to enjoy dinner in the garden overlooking the nature reserve. Within a 5 minute stroll of Bude’s town centre and a couple of minutes’ level walk to the stunning Crooklets Beach and glorious coastal path. Children will love being in such close proximity to the surfing beaches of Bude and enjoying a game of cricket or football on the sands at low tide. Most of Bude’s beaches are great for surfing, kite surfing, sea kayaking, fishing or just for rock pooling.
Crooklets Beach, Middle Beach, Summerleaze Beach, (with its lifeguarded outside sea pool) and Northcott Mouth are all less than 5 minutes away from Bude town centre. Bude is incredibly popular year round with an excellent selection of shops and restaurants and it retains its Victorian charm whilst offering something for everyone. The Bude and North Cornwall Golf Club, one of Cornwall’s finest is just an easy stroll from the property. Stunning coastal and country walks can be enjoyed from the doorstep and tennis, horse riding, surfing and fishing are all on offer here. The internationally acclaimed annual jazz festival is fantastic and not to be missed. If you can manage to drag yourself away then the pretty fishing villages of Padstow, Port Isaac and Rock are well worth a visit, and mystical Tintagel, with the legendary King Arthur’s Castle, is close by. The wild beauty of Dartmoor, Exmoor and Bodmin moors are a must for walkers and nature lovers. For a great day out, Crealy Adventure Park, Newquay Zoo and the famous Eden Project are all within easy driving distance. Beach 500 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 100 yards.
