Nestled beside the owners’ home, this truly is a birdwatcher’s paradise with many species of butterfly, wild deer and visiting birds. The field of natural reedbeds, being a rich habitat for the wildlife, where you can spot the visiting otters, bitterns, and water voles. Enjoy a stroll around the lake or simply sit and enjoy the views from your every own private seating veranda or the summer house. The grounds are shared with the owners, who can often be seen tending to the grounds, keeping them tip top condition and looking marvellous. Fishing can be enjoyed from the lake, shared with the resident swans and ducks (fishing in season and with licence). The owners have a very friendly dog called Alfie who also shares the garden.
Located within the heart of the Norfolk Broads National Park, the small parish of Strumpshaw is located alongside the River Yare, approximately 6 miles from the city of Norwich. Looking to dine out, the local area includes several pubs serving good food, many having riverside gardens, perfect for watching the boats pass-by, and many good take aways, all within a few minutes’ drive. Neighbouring Brundall offers daily boat hire, available from Riverside, train station for visiting Norwich city and other coastal resorts. Its central location allows you to enjoy and explore Norfolk’s amazing coastline and the famous Norfolk Broads National Park and the RSPB nature reserve at Strumpshaw Fen. The Fairhaven Gardens at South Walsham makes for a lovely day out. Why not jump on the Bure Valley railway to enjoy a steam train journey?
